Hi everyone, Well, this is the blog for the Computer Drawing class. It is a class for learning the basics of how to draw both by hand and in the computer. Therefore, you will acquire skills with drawing by hand from life with pencils and possibly charcoal on paper and using Adobe Flash and Illustrator in the computer. Here in this blog, I will provide links for the weekly handouts and provide you downloads for the Flash or Illustrator files when necessary. When you download those handouts, you will find a very detailed set of step-by-step instructions on what to do for classwork or homework. You will need these instructions for the homework, but also for the classwork in the case that you miss a class and need to make up the work. On that note, however, keep in mind that I DO NOT TAKE LATE WORK. A couple of other things about this blog: first, you should notice on the right-hand side that there is a Meebo Chat Window where you will be able to see whether I am online or not, and, if you have a question or a comment—or if you just want to say hi—you can do so by typing in a message and hitting enter; second, down at the bottom of this posting, you will find a place where you can publish comments of your own for everyone to see. Chances are that if you have a question, others in my classes will have the same question. So, please type something there. I will post a response quickly.

Hi everybody, I have to say that I was VERY PLEASED at the quality of work that I saw in my drawing classes this week. You all completed the exercise that we did in the hallway very well, and I sense that most of you understood what we were trying to do. Keep practicing this sort of drawing on your own. Make sure that you measure the widths, heights and angles using your pencil. Regarding the computer classwork, this continues to be a weakness for many of you. I am not asking for genius to come from you, only that you put forth a bit of effort, and I do not really see that from a lot of you. You rush through these exercises like they are a chore. If they are, I have to wonder what you're doing in a Digital Media program if you don't like to draw on the computer. Give it some thought. Carter-

Hi everybody, As in previous weeks, you will find the files for this week's posting, week 6 of the 14-week summer term, below. In addition, you will find links to download the files for the previous five weeks, in case you missed some of those exercises. I think you all worked hard this week in class and did quite well drawing the cube. I'm actually very pleasantly surprised. However, I am concerned at how much work some of you have to do for next week. Remember, not only next week's homework is due, but everything. Next week is MIDTERM, so everything that we have done up to now for classwork and homework will be due next week. I will post a list on Friday of exactly what you should have for me. Regarding homework for this week and the MIDTERM: please read ALL the instructions in the MS Word document as to what to do for next week's class.
